weight loss stalled

Is it possible to slow down weight loss by eating too much? I eat between 1200-1500 cal a day, weigh 145 and am 5'2" and I exercised vigorously at least 1-1.5 hrs every day and alternate between weights and drill type exerceises every other day. I can't lose a lb. Please help

Re: Slowing down weight loss

Hey Lori. How are you?

When you're on a healthy eating plan/fitness plan - every day and every meal counts, especially if you have set yourself a goal.
The best way to control a 'diet' is to have everything in moderation.
A piece of chocolate for example isn't going to throw your diet to the curb, but it might just curb a craving.
Have a think about your portion sizes and the frequency of your eating (and whether there are any hidden snacks in between that you aren't acounting for). Keep an honest diary, remembering that drinks high in sugar add a lot of calories a day.

Remember these rules... breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Queen, Dinner like a Pauper. Try not to eat after about 6-7pm... most foods consumed after this time aren't burned so are stored as fuel.

If you're exercising hard, have a look at your food types. You may be eating lots of veges etc... but starchy vegetables like potatoes and pumpkins... even corn are packed with energy... so are stored like energy and can be detrimental to a diet. Stick with the greens, lots of salads with light dressings (or better still none at all) and be friends with the grill (Chicken, fish, lean cuts of meat the size of your palm are ok). (Try the 80% Salad/Veges/20%Meat plate ratio)

If all else fails, perhaps sit down and have a chat with your doctor.
It could be a matter of having a blood test to see whether there are any Thyroid problems that need addressing, or joining a support group to share tips and get advice from other dieters!

I hope that some of what I have written has helped

Good Luck ;)
