Detoxing is a great start to a diet, and there are lots of ways to go about it. What are some of the ways you have detoxed, and what were the results?

Princess Mary did a detox to get in shape after her second child, it was recommended to her by her Danish friend Ellen Hillingso who had done it with great success.
Here it is:
- Avoid sugar, alcohol, offal, pork and over consuming dairy products.
- 2/3rds of your daily food should be vegetables and 1/3 should be meat.
- Get 7 to 10 tablespoons of cold pressed oils (such as olive or flaxseed) everyday.
- Eat plenty of fruit in the morning and in the afternoon.
- Eat plenty of beans, lentils, seeds, grains and nuts.
- Eat five light meals a day.
I haven't tried this myself, but it sure worked for Mary!
I did this detox and it was great. It is pretty easy to do because you can still eat.
7 day detox
- Begin your detox at the weekend or during a time when you don’t have too much going on.
- Walk for at least 15 minutes every day.
- Drink at least 2 liters of water a day – purified, distilled, filtered or bottled. You can also drink dandelion coffee or herb teas.
- Have 0.5 Litre of fruit or vegetable juice – either carrot and apple juice (you can buy these two separately and combine with one-third water) with grated ginger, or fresh watermelon juice – a day.
- Eat in abundance:
Fruit – the most beneficial fruits with the highest deter potential include fresh apricots, all berries, cantaloupe melons, citrus fruits, kiwis, papayas, peaches, mangoes, melons, red grapes.
Vegetables – especially good are artichokes, peppers, beetroot, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, red cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, cucumber, kale, pumpkin, spinach, sweet potato, tomatoes, watercress and bean sprouts.
- Eat in moderation:
Grain – brown rice, corn, millet, and quinoa – not more than two portions per day.
Fish – salmon, mackerel, sardines, and tuna – not more than once a day.
Oils – use extra-virgin olive oil for cooking and in place of butter, and cold-pressed seed oils for dressings.
Nuts and seeds – a handful a day of raw, unsalted nuts and seeds should be included. Choose from almonds, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and flax seeds (linseeds).
All wheat products, all meat and dairy produce (including eggs), salt and any food containing it, hydrogenated (trans) fats, artificial sweeteners, food additives and preservatives, fried foods, spices, dried fruit. Limits potatoes to one portion every other day and bananas to one every other day.
Don’t be surprised if you feel worse for a couple of day before you start to feel better!
A friend of mine told me to start sipping water with my meals. It has really helped my digestion and got me regular again. It's like the detox you do everyday. But do not drink too much, as that will dilute the digestive enzymes and slow digestion. So sip, but don't gulp!
Apparently this is the way that Beyonce dropped weight for Dreamgirls. In 10 days she lost 22lbs, which is about 9kgs (which does sound a little excessive!) but maybe just doing it for a day or 2 might be a good way to drop a kilo or 2, although they do say you should do it for a minimum of 10 days. I love to do a detox just to feel clearer and get rid of any crap in my body, and treat any weight loss as a bonus!
The Lemonade diet is actually really called the Master Cleanse, and it was first created in 1941. You don't eat any solid foods on it (gulp!) but you drink this concoction of purified water, organic lemon juice, cayenne pepper and good quality maple syrup (not just the type you find in most supermarkets) all day long. Then add to that a glass of salt water in the mornings, and a laxative tea at night.
Have been wanting to try it since I heard about Beyonce doing it (I think it was on Oprah) but some of these other suggestions sound good too and a lot easier :)
Can't imagine replacing solid food with that mix - yuck! I also remember Beyonce saying that she doesn't recommend it to anyone else, and that she only did it cause she had to be skinnier for Dreamgirls...but everyone has some excuse, don't they.
Am enjoying reading through all these celeb diets and detoxes, bit crazy, but interesting. Was thinking of doing a detox (its so hot today that I am seriously getting worried about being in a swimming costume) so am loving all the tips I can get...BRING THEM ON.

I love doing a detox for a few days every month. I makes me feel so light and fantastic. I drink loads of vegetable juices (incl. ginger, cabbage, beetroot, carrot, celery) and eat only raw vegetables and fruits. If you are really keen or doing it for the first time, it's great to just have the vegetable juices on the first day.
I also drink heaps of water, sip warm water with lemon and also drink herbal teas (but not green tea as this still has caffeine in it). I also go for a gentle walk, and do heaps of stretches.
On the third day, I start off with fruit and vegies still, then make up a big vegetable soup for lunch. Then by dinner I might have some fish and salad, so I am easing myself back in to regular foods. It's funny, you think you will then want to wake up the next morning and binge when you can finally eat, but you don't. You feel so great that you don't even want to ruin the feeling. Depending on what I have on, I also try to stay clear of caffeine, alcohol, white flour and sugar for the rest of the week, but it's not always possible.
We do detox by using the traditional methods and from time to time we also try and have a tea diet based on wu yi chinese weight loss tea and you know what? It helps. We feel how it purifies the body, mind and spirit and is giving more power and the necessary attitude to gain courage for my next weight loss attempt :)
